Catching The Light is a project started 1 March 2015 and finish 1 March 2016.

I have been photographing for a few years, but suddenly I reach a point where photography became unimportant/superficial. So I choose to challenge myself in photography. I wanted to start from scratch, and experience photography in its most basic and raw state.

The photographic proces I choose was the Wet Plate Collodion process invented by Frederick Scott Archer in 1851 - one of the first photographic processes.

Before I could begin the project I needed a camera, and I decided to build it myself.
Designing / Building the camera
Redesigning old camera design - Creating blueprints
Creating camera parts using a lasercutter
Testing focus screen / ground glass
Assembling the camera
Attaching the lens mount / flange ring
Final result
Getting a transportable darkroom
The photographs
. . . . . . . . . . . .
“I have seized the light – I have arrested its flight!”
