First actual Blender Project

Kind of had a small spark of motivation to try and learn how to use Blender. Second time around it wasn't too bad, I've started familirising myself with the hotkeys. I have even figured out how to make UV Maps/Unwraps, and can I just say it's 1000 times cleaner than 3ds Max.

What I haven't figured out yet is how to align faces. How to update UV's. And how to do smoothing groups.

But with some time I could see myself transitioning fully into Blender. If the question again is why, it's simply because it's free..

Let's see how far this goes before I snap and go back and finish it in max.
Well I am very pleased with the textures. I went as far as to make a night version, only difference is the windows. The model has Normal, Specular, Diffuse, and Self Illumination map. There is plenty of things that could be done better. But to be honest I feel as if this is the best texture work I have done to date. Also one of the most experimental meshes/art style as I usually stick to things that look real so it was kool to do something dare I say it 'fantastical'.
Oh and I also did a quick high poly build which I thought added a lot more character... 500 poly's more to be precise.

Made some great progress today with the models textures which are hand made. It's about 75% done, I still need to do the ground, and Windows. There is a bit of warping on the roof and chimney, which hopefully will be a simple fix.

I should have some more photos up today with hopefully a fully textured model, with not only a diffuse, but also a normal, specular, and maybe even an AO bake.

So far so good, really pleased that my hand made texturing skills are improving.
