Revel, by designers Carol Chu and Demetra Maheras, is a line about creating garments that are simple, fun, and playful through the use of varying colors, textures, and materials. The juxtaposing elements of bright colors and engaging textures against subdued colors and fabrics create a celebratory mood. Throughout the line, materials like fur, spandex, tulle, wire, and tape are utilized to create slightly unconventional surfaces. These two contrasting fabrics, fur and spandex, display how different fabrics can pull or shape the human body. The experimentation of using non­traditional materials, such as wire and tape, and crafting techniques, such as weaving, further develops the study of how garments reshape the body.
