UT Opera Theatre presents... Don Giovanni

Don Giovanni tells a story of a lustful man, gallivanting around town, tallying up an extensive list of ex-lovers. His sinful ways catch up with him when he attempts to woo a bride-to-be. The bride's dead father comes to life as a ghost and drags Giovanni to hell where he belongs.

The artwork I created for this opera depicts a male figure being drawn into the flames against his will. The flames take on the shape of feminine arms and legs reaching sensually towards him, symbolizing the deeds that drew him to his doom.

My goal for this pieces was to represent the story in a tasteful way, without being too generic or abstract. Those who know the story will immediately understand the artwork, and those who are unfamiliar will get a sense of what it will be about.
Posters and postcards were distributed to promote this performance. Ads were placed in local newspapers and on local radio stations.
