50 years of Unex
Unex is an independent European group specializing in insulating systems for the conduction, tying and marking of cables and tubes in power, data, HVAC and ancillary installations. For celebrating their 50th anniversary they challenged us with the creation of a book that would contain a timeline of innovations, growth, products and projects that they had untertaken since the beginning until now.
We designed the "Red Book "emphasizing on their humble origin, but explaining their path which made them a successful international company. The contents is an investigation into 50 years of products, publications and images with texts provided by the client. The production itself is based on the design of their earliest catalogues: one or two inks on recycled paper. The book was printed on White Vellum offset paper (170 g) and bound with red thread. Iris Red fabric 101/830 was used for a 3 mm Dutch hardcover. The brand is features as a white stamping on the front and as a blind embossing on the back cover.
The 600 copies were distributed by hand by the client in an array of countries: Spain, France, Germany, Portugal, Italy, Chile, Poland and the Netherlands.
