Take-away

Brief

Create a concept and design a campaign for the 2016 Graphic Design degree show and related events.

Concept

Students love take-aways. Each individual student  in Graphic Design Level 3 have now become their own little package, ready to be taken away by future employers.
Take-Away

noun

1.  a restaurant or shop selling cooked food to be eaten elsewhere

2. a key fact, point, or idea to be remembered
The typographic composition of the Take-away logo consists of elements sitting on three axis which can be slotted together and/or taken away. Also resembling a box, the logo forshaddows a key feature within the exhibition, as well as being metaphorical of Graphic Design Trent graduates being complete packages.
Colour Palette

An accent colour of neon green makes reference to the traditional signage of takeaway shops. The overall aesthetic of Take-away is future thinking, clean and fresh. Cliches of typical vintage menus, signage and type relating to the the takeaway vernacular have been mindfully avoided.

Typefaces

Sanserif Apercu is used for the logo and primary typography—it sets the clean minimalistic feel to the brand. To offset this, the more traditional serif typeface Lyon is used to link back to the older interpretations of takeaways. Both typefaces work awkwardly yet harmonise eachother, relating to the typical clash of random selected fonts in takeaway menus and promotion.
