SEA group_Atlas of Contemporary Networks

Similarly to the first Atlas of a Contemporary Technology, the second edition
of the outcames of the IUAV MA Information Design course starts with a journalistic approch towards facts and figures, then uses design and representation to research
reality in order to better understand it, combining tools of data visualization and illustration. The Atlas tries to understand the structure of information, as well as
the way it is created and distributed throught contemporary media. It covers different scales, from the very small to the very big, from the clearly abservable to the intangible and elusive. The network is not simply referred as a concept, a theory, or an abstract
and generic structure the Atlas investigate real networks, intended as systems and infrastructure by which different subjects or domains in the world organise themselves
in order to pursue a goal.

The project is composed of two part: papery and digital. In the printed part of Atlas,
we have drawing six double pages. The topics are: Underwather data, Overfishing,
Noise Interference, International waters, Offshore platforms, Antarctica.
