For the independent project, I wanted to create an illustration that reflected something I’m interested in.  In this case, it’s the culture of the 80’s.  I was always so fascinated with the 80’s; the movies, the culture, and the design especially.  Almost everything was a deep blue color with a bright red accent, and every design that I have seen was based on a 45 degree-angle grid.  I always thought this was a great and simple concept for a design, and I could try to create something like it.  For this, I just tried to make a perspective grid with triangular “mountains” of many different colors.  Each mountain is perched on a different part of a grid to make it look three-dimensional, and I even used the classic 80’s colors as the main grid and background colors.  I also wanted to add a moon in somewhere to add a bit of nature to the technological foreground that I created.
