These images are the product of an assignment I was given during my Studio Lighting Techniques class at Ivy Tech. We were to use an external camera flash in either manual or TTL, and do a portrait of someone standing in shadow or in front of the sun. The goal was to make an appropriate exposure with the subject having light on him/her from the external flash that was equal to the ambient light behind the subject. In my images, my subject is standing inside of an unlit garage.
