Mostly Mozart Festival Posters

For the first Mostly Mozart Festival poster, I acheived symmetric balance by placing the image of Mozart in the center of the poster.  I also used the repetition of the red color and the continuation of the seats focusing on Mozart to achieve unity. In addition to creating unity in the poster, the seats also create repetitive rhythm. The seats create a flowing rhythm and ultimately lead to the main focus of the poster, Mozart. The typography featured in the poster features a fancier font to convey the elegance of the festival being at Ohio Theatre.
The second Mostly Mozart poster features asymmetric balance by color. The gold color of the text on the blue background creates an eye-catching visual for viewers and creates balance. Asymmetrical balance is also achieved with the positioning of the text. The horizontal and vertical placement of the text adds a unique, balanced look to the poster. Unity in the poster was achieved using the proximity principle. The text and key information of the poster are close to one another in the shape of an L, which creates flow while reading the poster. Progressive rhythm is achieved in the poster with the music notes in the background. The notes add  a layer of depth to the poster while illustrating some of the music that will be played during the festival. A bolder typeface was used for this poster to convey the idea that it is a college production. The more inviting font and colors are ideal for a John Carroll produced Mozart music festival.
