From My Hands | Weaving art projects

This project is base on my reflexion on crossbreeding, mine actually, and the fact that we have to find our place in two origins and deal with heritages that sometimes looks like strangers for us but is a part of us.

I staged this portrait with all the elements who, for me, represent my heritage, my crossbreading.
Why in fabric? Because, fabric vehicules story through time.
Why in jacquard? Because this is a technic who allowed you to have really precised details of a picture or a design... For me, it gives life to what is weaved. :)
Eyes... It is a piece who was also created in the reflexion of "who you are and what you represent".
For a long time, I was strongly concern about what poeple think about me. This couple of eyes (my eyes) is the sensation that I was feeling about it.
Artistically, I inspired myself with japonese quilting design. The jacquard technic is names "Samit". It's a really technical weave who allowed you to have really special texture and colors effect. I really enjoyed it, but it's long to weave ! :)
