Why the name? Vorfreude means anticipation that generate from imagining future pleasure, and that's exactly what I want my chocolate bring to customers.
Design Story:
I want my product to be visually appealing and transmit the message that a piece of chocolate is a piece of pleasant art. Also, I want people know it’s a chocolate bar as they first see it. Therefore, I want to combine colors and metrics that people relate to chocolates.
First of all, Germany is a country where people love chocolates and have a long history in making high-quality chocolate. I want my product to combine German lifestyle and tradition so I researched most influential art movement/trend in Germany. The designs from the Bauhaus School are representative for Germany’s modernity and I like its minimalism idea in design. Targeting at young generations, I feel that simple Bauhaus geometrics are more likely to create a sense of liveliness and freshness.

Bauhaus geometrics have similar lines and shapes to the design of normal chocolate bars, which have breakable blocks, so when people look at the wrapper, they think of chocolate bars inside. Besides, as my slogan goes “German indulgence in minimalism,” I want to transmit the message that though Vorfreude’s wrapper looks simple without many decorative elements, the taste is rich.
