UN-Habitat is the United Nations programme working towards a better urban future. Its mission is to promote socially and environmentally sustainable human settlements under Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to protect and safeguard our planet. Among the 17 goals, this project focused on Goal 11: Making cities sustainable, safe, inclusive and resilient. Focusing on Target 11.4: Strengthen efforts to protect and safeguard natural heritage, I worked on the creating awareness about Urban Forestry.

Bangalore once known as 'Garden City of India' is losing its green cover at a very fast pace. It has almost lost 66% of its vegetation today.
This project tries to create awareness among people about the importance of natural resource with six native trees that can help to cure different issues related to climate.

I propagated to create awareness with Table tents and a Book. Each table tent will show a problem with an illustration on one side and another side will have solution of the problem which can be cured by planting trees.

A book which is a quick read illustrates six different native trees of Karnataka that can be easily grown and maintained in Bangalore city. Information about heath and environmental benefits received from each tree, propogation of each tree, and some quirky facts about effects of current climatic condition of Bangalore city.
