The Main Concept
The concept of my art was to create fan art depicting my favorite celebrity with a changed hairstyle. I was able to succeed by creating texture in the art to give a more realistic feeling. But I feel the colors really undermined my demonstration of the concept because it didn’t look as well done as the rest of the assignment.

Main techniques
In this peice, I demonstrated  mixing paint, using layers, using differently textured brushes, and smart filters. But I was stronger in techniques used really more for sketching the painting, rather than the coloring aspect. Examples would include techniques such as using textured brushes and using layers to my advantage. The actual application of coloring undermined the art because of the lack of practice there compared to the practice in other areas. So, I tried to include as many elements and principles of design as I could. I absolutely loved and enjoyed this peice. So I couldn’t help but want to work as hard as I could to create the best possible final piece.

Sketch
Here is the original sketch I'd done beforehand. The picture was from a concert originally.
Previous draft
Here, I added colour to the drawing. The background there to mimic the concert lights. THe shirt was made white, similar to the shirt he often wears.
Previous draft
In this draft, the shirt was changed to a more navy blue colour, as I'd realized the bright shirt takes away the attention from the face and the navy blue suits his pale skin better. The background was changed also because, similar to the shirt, the background took away the attention from the face.
Final peice
This is the final peice. Here I've changed the backgroud to match his eyes. I've fixed parts of the colouring (spots I'd missed seeing). I changed the hair with a smart filiter to add a bit more emphasis on the braid.
