Hosted by Calder Brannock and produced by Kent Reynolds, TheArtShow.tv
is a video series of discussions about art in the DC area and beyond.
Each two-hour episode edited live and uploaded to Vimeo, but we wanted to allow users to also jump directly to specific events within episodes. This flexible site uses Mustache.js templating and List.js sorting to dynamically pull and sort the content from Vimeo. Calder and Kent can add new videos and clips by simply filling out a Google Sheets doc which syncs with Sheetlabs to become an API. The data in the sheet then generates a list of episodes or designates specific video start times, saving the production time of generating individual clips files. A possible future functionality would be to allow visitors to suggest clips via a Google Form that would populate the Sheet.
List.js sorts the videos in a lightweight way, and the resulting videos display larger for easier viewing.
