Concert poster for the Pixies created for my illustrator class. Unlike the Mr. Grieves project, this was a more literal interpretation instead of a collection of loosely based imagery. The poster follows the idea behind the song Dead, which talks about the biblical tale of Bashiba/King David and Uriah. I wanted to create an overall style that was visually unified across the characters/setting. I came up with a system of geometric pieces… The characters visual style is kept friendly on purpose to juxtapose the violence that has taken place.
