The following series of images were captured with a Canon Rebel T3i at 1/250th shutter and the on camera flash. I got the idea while trying to thing of things that would look interesting to capture at a fast shutter speed. I wondered what boiling water would look like but I new that it would need color to be interesting. These images are all of a boiling pot of water with red food die. I normally don't use on camera flash because of how it washes out the subject and creates wierd lighting, but in this instance I liked the way it cut through the steam and created highlights on the water.

 

In Lightroom I enhanced these photos by adjusting the hue to bring out more red and increasing the vibrance and saturation.
