What if typefaces could talk to you? That would be kind of weird, yeah...
The ISTD brief for this project required that I create a publication that celebrates the life and work of Adrian Frutiger. Through my collectible publication Typified, I have celebrated his life in a more unconventional way than most. I propose, what if typefaces could talk? Typified is a publication that presents exactly that.

Through this publication design, I have paid homage by personifying Adrian Frutiger’s typefaces in order to tell his story from their perspective. In my opinion, Frutiger literally became his typefaces and due to his modesty, he hid behind their success. Even after his death, he continues to live and exist through them. All the content was created myself which I derived from his anthology The Complete Works. I created three of eighteen hypothetical B6 sized book, each focused on a different typeface with a black box packaging to hold them. Through the bold and experimental typography, the typefaces speak to the audience about their interaction with their creator.

Typified is a playful publication that provides an insight into the life and work of Adrian Frutiger. The content is written in a humorous way and the language is from the perspective of the typeface. This makes the publication more personal and has a direct connection between you, the typeface and Frutiger.
