L’amo is a three piece band from Naples, one of the main band of the hard core label Fallo Dischi, one of the most important in the Italian hard core scene. At the time of this recording, I had just finished building the studio, so I invited them over to get more confident with the sound of the room and also to let everyone know I finished building the studio! I asked Manuele Altieri, former singer of Vacanza and a truly gifted graphic designer to help me out with the video part.

We recorded three songs out of their album, everything live, vocals included. Setup was pretty simple:

 

Drums - an 80’s Tama kit: recorderman with a couple of modded Oktava sdc, Akg D112 for the kick, 57 on the snare

Guitar: Rickenbacker 330 plugged in an old Roost 50W valve head feeding a Marshall 2x12 cab miked with an RE20 and an MJE-K47H each panned to opposite sides and one delayed a few ms to make it stereo

Microkorg: straight to the DI

Vocals: Shure Beta58

 

I mixed and mastered itb with a couple of Yamaha HS50M. Check the kubrickian photography of the clip and have a listen!
