Solstice - Study Abroad Project

During the 2016 spring semester, I studied abroad in Hamburg, Germany and went to the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences in the Department of Media and Information. In the Character Design and Interactive Illustration and Games classes, I worked on a semester long character design project. Here is the result.
Guardian and warrior: Maire
Using gauntlets and pure physical strength, she uses her skills to protect Sven and fight for her kingdom.
Fifth Prince of Vuroijono: Sven
New to fighting and only just discovering his powers, he isn't a powerhouse like Maire but possesses great defense magic to protect his team and kingdom.
Pruina Warrior: Arvo
Using his mastery of his dual swords and hand to hand combat, he lends his knowledge and support to Maire and Sven along their journey across Ager.
Desert Witch Sirpa:
Possessing great control over the elements and vast knowledge of magic, Sirpa desperately wants to destroy the land that shunned and isolated her and her family from society for being witches. Having hatred for the royal family, she is a natural enemy of Maire and Sven.
Environment Concept Designs
Laidun, east of Vuroijono, is a region past the mountain ranges that is known for its vast forests and fields. The population of the area is the largest in Ager. It is more city like and boasts its knowledge and manufacturing of technology within its major city but still holds tight to the culture and history of Ager with the remnants of history through architecture and teachings.
Aavikko is a vast desert region, south of Vuroijono and the expansive moutain range. Their cities are built into the moutainside or completely underground, using tall skyscrapers and temple towers in order to access solar power easily. Their population is the smallest in Ager but their underground cities are massive and extensive.
