Colossal was created for the Wellington LUX light festival as a group project.
We were a team of 6 Wellington based designers all from diverse backgrounds including Graphic Design, Digital Design and Industrial Design.

The animation depicts the giant squid from Te Papa moving about in the Wellington Harbour as we imagine it would dream about having escaped and coming across other creatures in it's environment. The aesthetic of the squid has a glow and dream-like look to play on the fact that the squid could be dreaming of life back in the ocean.
This is the official animation shown at Wellington Lux 2015 on the waterscreen outside shed 5 and Dockside along the waterfront down in the capital. Was such an amazing experience to be involved in the Lux light festival.
