Alien Pictogram Set
The proposal was to make at least 40 icons that had a topic in common. The first thing that crossed my mind was an alien ship/station.
Adventure Game Icons
These were created for a study regarding the perception of icons in old point-and-click adventure games such as Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Island, The Dig, Simon the Sorcerer, etc. And about what would happen if they were to be ported to an iPhone, for example.
With that in mind, I created different icons to represent the in-game actions and buttons (Walk, Look, Open/Close, Pick up/Take, Use, Give, Push/Pull/Move, Talk/Chat, Inventory) and then interviewed people (both non-gamers and people familiar with the genre, of different ages) to test their recognition of the images.
