The Museum Museum
The Museum Museum is a museum of the architecture of contemporary art museums that enables the visitors to enjoy a new way of experiencing space.
Art museums have been seen as containers of artwork for a long time; however, new museum design shows that the negative space that is formed by the architecture has always played an important role in people’s experience of art.
In the Museum Museum, visitors will walk through 24 rooms filled with exhibitions of architecture from different art museums. Each room is a unique exhibition inspired by the museum architecture that it displays. While the exhibition illustrates the design concept and the planning of the building, the visitors can also enjoy a similar spatial experience to the architecture exhibited.
The Museum Museum design is inspired by Brian O’Doherty’s description of an art museum as a “white cube” in the book
Inside the White Cube. Both the building design and identity of the museum imply this concept.
The Museum Museum seeks to inspire and encourage people’s understanding of the space around them. The Museum Museum can be seen as a celebration of spaces, which welcomes people to a new world with heightened sensibilities of space.
Identity System
Identity system design is connected to the design of the Museum Museum Building: the square represents the white cube building and the variation of the square is a perspective view of a cube within a cube. Four colors identify the four floors and the position of the corner in the square is responsive for each exhibition location.

In the exhibition of this project, the exhibition space can be seen as a exhibition in the Museum Museum. On the left side of the wall, 24 Collages that made by the photos of each museum architecture. They are representing the 24 museums that I choose. On the other side of the wall is musuem poster. Tickets, maps and brochures are placed on the pedestal.
