International Conference on Physician Health

Dr. Ramesh Sachdeva serves as the associate executive for the American Academy of Pediatrics and teaches pediatric medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. A graduate of the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow with over two decades of medical experience, Dr. Ramesh Sachdeva also belongs to the American Medical Association (AMA). In September 2016, the AMA will join with the British Medical Association and the Canadian Medical Association in hosting the International Conference on Physician Health (ICPH).

The collaborative meeting serves as a showcase for new research, and the 2016 conference will offer perspectives about increasing joy in the medical community for physicians while exploring themes relevant to the profession. Themes discussed during the 2016 event range from individual health and job satisfaction to understanding and combatting burnout. Additionally, attending physicians will learn about promoting a healthy workforce and developing a balance of life and work. Events and activities include workshops, abstract presentations, keynote and plenary speakers, and opportunities for networking with fellow medical professionals.

Registration for the ICPH costs $945 for AMA members and $1,069 for nonmembers, although early bird registration rates of $750 and $948, respectively, are available until August 5. Students, residents, and juniors may also register at discounted prices, and individuals who cannot attend the full event may purchase single-day passes for $299. The conference will take place September 18 through September 20, 2016, at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel.
