Green Donut; Nature, Purity, Organic
Within the following collection of photo's, I took 5 different boldly coloured donuts and found an object or location the also represented the same colour and meaning, in order to show that two objects although very different can withhold the same meaning and representation through colour.
Technique: Photo was taken with a DSLR Camera, using natural lighting and backgrounds
Reasoning: The brightly coloured green donut is in focus, and behind leaves and plants can be seen in a blur, i thought this was highly effective as although the background is blurred it is still obvious as to what it is, i also think this is very efficient in terms of the meaning and representation of the colour. Green gives a sense of purity, and nature and this can be clearly seen within the background through the plants, and organic aesthetic.
Reflection: This is a very strong photo as the concept is very clear as both objects reflect the overall meaning of the colour. The lighting is also very bright which bring's out the smaller details in the donut as you can see the surface and texture, so although very close the viewer will be able to identify the object, to aid to this I decided the typical bite on the side of donut would be very effective, we have used this technique throughout the collection. #oneperday
Red Donut; Warning, Stop, Rules

Technique: Photo taken on a DSLR camera with natural lighting, and small focus point
Process: This time the background which is a warning sign for "no dogs allowed", is in focus as we wanted the idea of a warning sign with regulations to be very prominent so therefore the donut is out of focus although is still recognisable. Therefore the idea of a warning is very obvious and is a very popular representation of the colour red.
Reasoning: We thought that the idea of having a warning, would be more prominent with idea of the colour rather than have something that represents "love" as this may be harder to find within a natural outdoor scene.
Reflection: Having the focused changed worked well as this allowed the representation of the colour to be more obvious, however the donut may be a little bit too blurred in the foreground. #oneperday
Yellow Donut: Caution, Be Aware, Bright

Technique: Taken on iPhone Camera
Process: There is an overall focus point, although the background is a little bit clearer. I thought the bright colour of yellow could be seen as a caution or to be aware much like the sign, this is a realistic representations of the colour in a natural environment.
Reasoning: A yellow caution sign for cleaning in process was used as the background next to the donut and the two bright colours allow for a bright bold photo.
Reflection: The lighting in this image wasn't as clear as we used natural lighting however is still effective as it is obvious what the foreground and background images are. #oneperday
Blue Donut; Informative, Mature, Calm
Within the following collection of photo's, I took 5 different boldly coloured donuts and found an object or location the also represented the same colour and meaning, in order to show that two objects although very different can withhold the same meaning and representation through colour.
Technique: Iphone Camera
Process: The camera is focused on the donut as this is the closer more prominent object, and the background is then taken up by the blue sign. The donut has a shimmer from the sun around the rim showing its texture and bold colour.
Reasoning: We thought the blue sign show's a sense of direction, as seen through the arrow and symbols and this relates to the meaning of the colour which we felt was informative, and mature, therefore the sign also reflects the colour's meaning.
Reflection: I believe this is one of out strongest photo's from the collection as the similar object reflects the meaning and representation of the colour blue, the lighting is natural and bright and although there is a shadow on the sign towards the top of the photo, it allow's for more depth and more focus on the donut. #oneperday
Black Donut; Sleek, Classy, Modern
Within the following collection of photo's, I took 5 different boldly coloured donuts and found an object or location the also represented the same colour and meaning, in order to show that two objects although very different can withhold the same meaning and representation through colour.
Technique: Used iPhone Camera
Process: Photography allowed focus to be on both the camera and donut to show consistency between colours.
Reasoning: I thought the camera was very sleek and modern looking and would match with the donut well,as they are two very different objects and also links to the idea of photography through the DSLR camera.i
Reflection: The reflection in the camera screen worked in my favour as it allows for another dimension and view of the donut. A challenge would be the quality of the photo, as the lighting within the room wasn't as effective and bright in comparison to the outdoor photos taken earlier. #oneperday
