Old Man Drawing Excersize

This was the first drawing of the exercise. We were asked to look at the picture on the screen and draw what we saw. Personally I started off with the eyes because they are the centre of the whole image and based off of where the eyes are, I can judge where everything else goes afterwards. I chose to do light loose strokes for this piece.
This time the image was flipped upside down and we were asked to draw what we saw. I found that I didn't see the image as a face, I saw it more as multiple shapes and different line strokes. Again, I chose to use light pencil strokes.
This drawing was drawn from the same photo, but each line had to be drawn as a curve. This method was based off of an artist who often drew their art with curved, flowing lines. The idea was to commit to each line and how it was going to be drawn.
This time we were asked to draw in a style of an artist who often created his artwork my using sharp, jagged lines. The lines were drawn purposfully to create the visual idea of decisiveness. The mood is definitely changed in comparison to the rounded, flowing lines of the previous pieces.
This drawing was not drawn in pencil like the others, this was drawn in oil pastel. The purpose behind this drawing was to press as hard as you could and be decisive with your lines. This drawing is my favourite because it is very dynamic.
This drawing was drawn with rhythem. The teacher walked around the class again saying "one potato". When he began the rhythm, I started to draw a line. But when he ended the rhythm, I had to stop whatever line I had started. In this particular drawing, I played with smaller curved lines, as the rhythm was short.
This drawing was also drawn with rhythem. This one I had twice as long to draw each line. For example, the teacher walked around the class again saying "one potato, two potato" and after he finished syaing "two potato" I had to stop drawing the line, and then begin another when he began the rhythm again. In this particular drawing, I played with longer, slower curves.
