Type Hike is a collaborative design project including 59 designers and typographers, each of whom will create a unique design for a park they love in celebration of the National Parks Service centennial August 2016.
As my contribution to the centennial, I designed the following poster for Kings Canyon National Park. One of my personal favorites.
The poster was designed using 3 colors. The background fabric was created overlaying the colors to create the lighter green texture.
The poster can be printed on cream paper using only two layers, a green layer and a gray layer. I love the complexity and shades you can fake with such a limited palette.
