Exploring abstraction through creation and destruction.

My work is inspired by anthropological and cultural research and expressed via experimenting with abstract expressionism, figurative painting and sculpture.  I am exploring abstraction through a series of paintings, which try to capture the sentiment of creation through destruction. They are painted over and over again with various materials (oil,acrylic,beer,spirit, ect.) until they got in their final form. The artists that really have influenced my work is Gerard Richter as far as it concerns the treatment of the color and his gestural technique, Sam Francis and Clyford Still in the way they treat color and create their compositions and Adolf Gotilieb in his unique way of combining gestural and  flat color in a very precise way. My color pallet and combinations are mostly inspired by traditional and folk art from all over the world, and even the way I express myself on the canvas my pallet stays similar to all of my paintings.
