World Of Colour Eizo Competition

University project to create and brand a festival to educate about colour.

My festival World Of Colour is influenced by the ideology of Epcot at Walt Disney World. “Epcot is dedicated to the celebration of human achievement, namely technological innovation and international culture, and is often referred to as a permanent World's Fair”. I feel the true meaning of colour is endless, there are so many different examples how colour is used, I wanted to branch out and individually allow visitors to explore different experiences based around colour.

The fluidity and simplistic style of the WOC logo shows how it can be adapted to work on different platforms. The logo is used in the centre of the festival as a fountain, It spokes off into seven different areas dedicated to each attraction which have their own unique icon and colour which is inspired by Epcot’s use of icons to visualise each attraction, having its own purpose; to educate.

Why seven attractions? The WOC logo is built up of seven colours, this represents each attraction and how combined they all are based around colour.

I tried to keep the identity bold and simplistic but effective. I feel I lead a very modernistic route, however I am very interested in this sort of design. I feel people may argue the identity is bland, however I feel the white backdrop allows the key colours to stand on edge allowing the core meaning of the festival to be on edge and communicated effectively.

If i was to expand on this project I would look at how attraction entrances would look digitally and a detailed explanation of each attraction showing different stages. Also staff uniform, merchandising, website, app, social media content and many more are all aspects which could be explored to see how the identity can be transferred.
