HD Productions Identity

This project was to come up with a company of our choosing and then create an identity for that company. The identity included a logo, color palette, and any other designs of our choosing.
We had to come up with a design brief detailing a lot of aspects of our company, and from that, create word webs and matrices to come up with ideas for an overall aesthetic. After that, we had to do a number of thumbnail sketches, followed by three refined sketches for a logo design. Afterward, we took that logo, built it on the computer, and let the rest of the class critique our work. After the critique, we went back into our logo and redesigned and tweaked it as necessary. After that was simply coming up with any other designs that could help create our company's identity.
My company is HD Productions. They specialize in creating web content in the form of video entertainment. I wanted a sleek look that could be easily recognizable. I had an idea for a red design coming around the HD part of the logo, and started coming up with different ways of doing that. The final design turned out to look like a dragon, so after the critique, I went all in to the dragon theme and tweaked the logo to depict that. For the other designs, it made sense that a company like this could sell merchandise, so I showed what a possible shirt design could look like, along with a nice looking product tag. I also made business cards and showed what the logo could look like as a foil stamp.
This was a very interest project that I felt really pushed out creativity in ways that allowed us to express ourselves more openly. I found it really enjoyable. It was a challenge having to go into the project without much criteria for what the design needed to be, which really forced me to come up with ideas that I may not have otherwise. It was a really enjoyable project in my eyes.
