Bodoni Accordion Book

This book explores the making and use of the typeface Bodoni. In my writing I discuss the historical context in which it was made, the visual characteristics that distinguish the typeface, ways in which it is used in contemporary design, and its cultural implications. It is an accordion fold book, with each spread spilling into the next. A grid system holds together the readability of the book, while different folds and viewing angles prompt a dynamic, varied reading experience. 

This book is not meant to be read in a digital format, as I designed it as an accordion book in order to create interesting juxtapositions and uncanny relationships reflected in the typeface it features. I've published it on issuu so that all of the spreads can be easily viewed online.
