Jubilee of Mercy poster and portrait of Mother Teresa

In this world of war and conflict, the legacy of a modern day Veronica lives in the memory of every righteous being and keeps inspiring good deeds. St. Teresa of Calcutta is who we are referring to.

“I see Jesus in every human being. I say to myself, this is hungry Jesus, I must feed him. This is sick Jesus. This one has leprosy or gangrene; I must wash him and tend to him. I serve because I love Jesus.”       - St. Teresa of Calcutta.

This painting portrays Jesus in the skins of man, and Mother Teresa in the skins of Veronica correlating their acts of merciness. Purple angelic light is associated with Zadkiel, the archangel of mercy. The purple dove symbolizes Zadkiel. The visual framed inside Mother Teresa, comprises a pair of slum children, signifying the hope that even in this modern era, individuals like a Veronica or a Mother Teresa shall take birth and smear happiness and light (as the moon does)  in their dark world.
This is a personal project I did in connection with the canonization of Mother Teresa. But as I couldn’t finish it before the event, I had to postpone it for the conclusion of the Jubilee of Mercy.
The portrait below was done in watercolor, on a 140 lbs A3 Canson Montval sheet.
