School of Arts, Ghent - Belgium
For the growing population in Belgium by immigrants and refugees from the far east, I made for a traditional academy in one of Belgiums biggest student city Ghent, a small solution for an upcoming social problem. In the academy more and more muslim students enter their programs and get everyday faced with a distinct catholic architecture. To make sure that they feel their selves a bit welcome and at 'home' I integrated a carpet in the whole entrance hall of the academy. The result is a perfect harmony between the catholic architecture with a touch of an islam influence.
