Richard Bradley's profile

Fly Fishing the Banana River Lagoon

My home waters between Cocoa Beach and Merritt Island is a vast lagoon stretching for over 25 miles along the Space Coast on Florida's east coast.  A true saltwater estuary, the Banana River is not a "River" at all but a shallow lagoon that's fed by the coastal inlets leading from the Atlantic Ocean.
Fly fishing is something I picked up as a young man in my twenties.  I love the fact that there's a skill that must be learned and developed while enjoying the outdoors. Like a golf swing, the fly cast can be a frustrating and skill set but pure joy when accomplished.
