The goal of this assignment was to learn how to use different forms of point, lines, and shapes in artwork. In order to create this piece, I used a variety of ink pens with thicknesses of 0.1,0.3 and 0,5 as well as tracing paper, bond paper and a board to mount the final piece on.
I looked through different pictures for inspiration on the GBC library website but ultimately came to the decision of drawing a rose because it had high amounts of contrast which helped with the stippling process.
In order to create this work I decided to break the workflow up into sections so that the stippling wouldn't turn out to be as sloppy.
Along with my stippling drawing, there was also a line drawing of a rose. I am pleased with how this assignment turned out and it was probably my favourite from the first semester. If I were to re do this assignment it would probably be just to experiment with different forms of media (thicker lines) and different objects other than roses.
