Anonymity of Non-places

Anonymity of Non-places
Part of MA Final Project, London College of Communication, UAL

This project seeks to critique the depersonalization and anonymity that characterizes
the approach to the design of non-places. A typology of the architectural elements of ten underground stations showed a clear common language between the materials, colours and textures. The systematic approach of photographing a limited amount of space, while excluding a human presence, allowed to break down the space and focus the viewer’s attention on these specific elements. The resulted images were collected in a book using a repetitive narrative to convey a sense of alienation.
