Animated Gifs

When a child (aged 7 - 11) signs up to support Earth Rangers and start a Bring Back the Wild project to protect 1 of 5 endangered animals, they also receive a customized profile page with an animated gif of the animal they chose. This is a fun and simple way to enhance the user experience. These illustrations were harvested from a stock site and then greatly adapted to make them a more accurate depiction of the actual project animal (photographs for reference). They were then animated in Photoshop and uploaded to user profiles.
The halo behind them is necessary as children have options to change their backgrounds and there is a diverse range of colours and textures within the landscapes that the animals may not stand out well against.
Given the time constraints of the project, the challenge here was to create simplistic movements in Photoshop that accurately captured movements that would be natural to the animal.
