Build: web design
Build is a music festival with intentions to spur inclusive, grassroots development in Baltimore City. Inspired by Beat and Folk movements and scenes of vintage Americana, it hopes to inspire fans of the chillwave and folk that its lineup offers.
Hocus Bogus: promotional motion design
This gif was used to promote "Hocus Bogus," a website used by a young writer from Philadelphia to document street photography and graffiti from the city. I used manipulated scans, personal photos, and spray painted typography to create the frames for the gif.
Flying and Swimming: print design
This spread is the "swimming" excerpt from a book that explores the use of Illustrator's pucker tool both literally and conceptually. After experimenting heavily I began to discover great opportunity for sequential images, and combined the images with humorously bizarre descriptions of physics principles and guides for pronunciation in a Southern dialect. This spread explores fluid dynamics, the correct pronunciation of "swimming," and depicts sequential images of a fish constructed out of hair extensions.
Craft Gear: publication design
"Craft Gear" is an article from a publication titled "Produce," which was designed for Type 3 last semester. The magazine focused on electronic music and its power to strengthen the community. I photographed all images on the opener myself, collaging and repeating them in photoshop. The magazine sought to compare music technology to nutritious food, and played on the comparison of craft gear and craft beer, something that's often citrusy as well.
Vanity: mixed media collage
We often perceive individuals of the upper class, adorned in the splendor of their materialistic lifestyles, to exist only at a superficial level intellectually. Is this true? What lies behind their blank stares? Are the smiles feigned? Or do they hide a unique set of anxieties we can't comprehend?
Stingrays: motion design
Stingrays was a motion-focused project which delivered a campaign of public service announcements to Baltimore residents concerning the use of IMSI catchers by American law enforcement. IMSI-catchers, primarily known as Stingrays, are used to intercept all cell phone traffic in an area, pinpointing cell phone locations and mining data.
