Flyer for Future Islands - a Baltimore synthpop / post-wave band – 2010
The 3rd flyer I designed and illustrated for Baltimore-based post-wave band Future Islands was the antidote to my incessant, inexplicable urge to draw Trolls. The particular show advertised by this flyer took place a month prior to the release of Future Islands' sophomore album In Evening Air. Adhering to my incurable 80s and 90s graphic fascinations, and being inspired by trolls resurgent period of popularity in the early-mid 90s – I illustrated 90s-style Wish-stone Trolls and an accompanying heap of wish-stones. Sam, the frontman of the band told me that he thought this was the best portrait of the band he had seen so far – the 3 trolls.
