Museum of Boulder, Colorado - Interactive Tablet

Project scope:
The Museum of Boulder is moving to a new building and would like interactive content to help visitors navigate the new exhibition space. Visitors could access the interactive content on their own devices or through tablets located in the exhibition space.

I worked with the exhibition design team in mapping the proposed interactive content to the physical exhibits. I also developed wireframes for the tablet's interface based on the structure of the content.
Content mapping:
The exhibition is divided into different themes based on the history and development of Boulder. The large amount of content meant that much of the information had to be placed in the interactive layer. Organizing the content into a "site-map" provided the team with an overview of all the content. This visualization of the categories and sub-categories was also essential to design of the tablet screen wireframes.
Interactive Tablet Wireframes:
Several rounds of wireframes were created for the content templates, from low to medium fidelity. The wireframes communicated the placement of the content and user interactions.
Medium fidelity wireframes for the 3 key content templates
Visual cues for the exhibition
I suggested that this visual cue/icon be placed next next to exhibits so that visitors would know to refer to the interactive tablet for more information.
