Branding Personas: With three classic Mel Brooks films, Spaceballs, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and Young Frankenstein, I developed a series of products that represent the diversity of the iconic characters in order to bring their fictional personas to life.
Dark Helmet: He’s the short man with the giant helmet. Known as the less intimidating, tie wearing, and nearsighted Darth Vader; Dark Helmet is a hysterical man with a bit of a Napoleon Complex. From Planet Spaceballs, he is President Skroob’s right hand man and Commander of Spaceballs One, the most elite and longest spaceship of the future.
Frau Blucher: The tightly wound, stern-faced housekeeper at the Frankenstein estate whose mere name causes horses to whine in fear. With just her violin, she lures Frederick Frankenstein to his great grandfather’s laboratory – where the original creature was brought to life. She later uses the violin to help the new creature escape.
Robin Hood: Back from the Crusades, the honorable, sensitive, swash buckling hero, Robin Hood majestically mocks the rich, defends the poor, revolts against tyranny, speaks with a perfect English accent, gains the key to the greatest treasure in the land, protects the forest, and thus naturally provides social outcasts with green tights; all in the name of justice.
