Description

This book focused on creating a collection or "type journal" of well-designed typography. After gathering 10 examples for each letter of the alphabet, I organized them around the theme of synesthesia. Synesthesia is the involuntary mixing of senses. I experience synesthesia daily as I mentally see shapes in conjunction with music and colors with letters. Each spread features a letter and the color it appears to be in my mind. I also highlight a word beginning with that letter that further explains my daily experiences with synesthesia.

During the process of creating the book, I learned how to make a double-o ring binding. I bound the book by hand since there was only one copy. I also explored ways to unify the book through the layouts and textures while employing a varied color palette to represent how I mentally see the letters.
