Baskerville:
Eyewear & More

Baskerville is a transitional serif font designed by John Baskerville (1706-1775) in 1757, Birmingham, England and cut by John Handy. Certain features include crisp edges, high contrast, and generous proportions.

The assignment was to choose a font and design a book based on its features. If the font Baskerville were a person, I'd imagine him to be a British gentleman who is wise and elegant; he would have good taste for things and enjoys vintage wearings; he'd own a cat and a mysterious job. He rides a bike to work and enjoys strolling down the beach on a nice day. He would also be a man of principles, liking things neat and clean.

These characteristics inspired me to design this booklet about eyewear and the stories within. Hope you enjoy it.
