What A Waste of A Lovely Night
If everyone doesn't know, I am a HUGE fan of La La Land. After watching the film I wanted to create my own drawing of it in celebration of the film. Beginning with the title, I could not find a way to design it in a way I felt pleasing to the eye. Moving passed the title I decided to use the observatory as my main subject with the city skyline in the background. The observatory was the location of two important parts within the film, giving it significance for the artwork. From there I erased using the La La Land title and replaced it with a quote from one of the songs.
I sketched out the draft on my ipad, brought it into Illustrator to create a vector image and when I believed I was done I dropped it into Photoshop to adjust colors and add the stars and moon.
