We were tasked to design a survival guide for fresh design students, along with some swag to be packaged along with the booklet. I was inspired by the name of my course—Bachelor's in Advertising and Design, or BAD for short—to create something with the connotations of being 'bad'... in a good way.
For the overall theme of the design, I wanted it to emulate biker gang jackets, which have patches emblazoned on them. BAD students are often referred to as the 'unicorns' of our university due to our erratic schedules, thus I took that as the inspiration for the mascot.
