Instructional Design

Instructional Design and Technical Publishing
User focussed resources for learners and facilitators.

In order to refine my Instructional Design skills, I went back to university to gain a solid pedagogical basis. After graduating with a Postgraduate diploma in Teaching (secondary) I undertook teaching practice for a total period of  just under 5 years.

This experience allowed me to build a solid theoretical and practical understanding of how verbal, textual and visual information can be presented to clearly communicate concepts, ideas and complex information, helping viewers to construct understanding and encouraging retention. I have found these skills especially useful when simultaneously addressing the variable needs of learners at different literacy and numeracy levels.

I have been able to amply use these skills in my Instructional Design and Technical Publishing practice. Audiences have included secondary school students and teachers, trades apprentices, trainers, assessors, corporate staff, HR departments, all the way to corporate and professional association board members.
