Second textile artwork from the Rusted Lace seriescreated on a piece of my hand dyed fabric. The main design was created usingiron filings in a paper cutout that turned to rust with the addition of waterand salt. Dense and intricate hand stitching in various colors of thread wereused to create the visual as well as physical texture of the piece which isevident when seen in person. The overall design reveals itself subtly on closerinspection. As the piece is rotated, subtle shifts in design and color emergemaking this piece truly unique and designed to be easily displayed in any orientation.
