Food Photography for the Master Chef Herb Guide

This 6-month special project for Aerogrow's MasterChef Herb Cookbook needed photography for over 200 recipes, which involved 2-3 photography sessions per week. These sets included food stylists and assistants and required color-coordinated props depending on what type of food or herbs were being showcased. Several shots of varying angles were taken of each plate, which the creative team then had to choose from to decide which would be shown with the recipe.

I used a Canon camera tethered to a desktop computer to display full-screen images immediately. Instead of strobes, we used video hot lights. In addition to the photography, I also completed any retouching necessary.

Food styling by Chris Caldes or Karin Lazarus, with assistance by Greg Tinkley.
