What happens to a place, when its only purpose is gone? 

I shot this series at Coney Island, NYC in the fall of 2016, some weeks after the Holiday Season ended. The boardwalk was nearly empty, no people at the beach, the amusement park closed, the ballpark abandoned. No sound of working machines or laughing children in the air.  It was nearly a surreal experience to walk around the area and to capture the giant constructions, catching their breath, preparing for a new busy year.
