To Kill a Mockingbird (New book design for "Penguin")

Project outlined by a Brief from Penguin editions, the aim was to redesign a new look for the book "To Kill a Mockingbird".
A novel by Harper Lee published in 1960. It was immediately successful, winning the Pulitzer Prize, and has become a classic of modern American literature the book is ostensibly about race prejudice in the American south. At the core of its main plot is the trial of Tom Robinson, an African-American accused of raping a white girl.

For this Brief I wanted to use texturised silhouettes in contrast with a "Tiffany blue" (color widely used in the 30') to give a sensorial feeling at the reader and a hint of the story narrated int the book.
